As a newbie in affiliate marketing, i would like to know what are top affiliates that one should follow and must subscribe to their updates. It will be better if their reference links are also provided. Much appreciated in advance.

That's hard, because all entrepreneurs who do affiliate marketing as their main income generator have huge mailing lists they promote products to and/or sell their own products. Also, they have a big list of other big boys in the industry who help them, promote for them and do JVs with. This way all their lists are growing insanely fast and constantly.
I'll be in contact with you soon Idress...I'll give you some material that will give you a better view on things when it comes to affiliate marketing.
One tip up front: stay away from the IM and MMO niche when starting affiliate marketing. This market is saturated and very hard to become successful in as an affiliate marketer. For example review sites...they don't work anymore. Before any new product in IM/MMO is launched you'll find tens of thousands of review sites already promoting the product with an insane number of backlinks pointing to their page.
I've still got a review site and even for the products I had the first 3 or 4 positions on google for didn't bring me anything.
