Google Algorithm Update Favors User Experience

Sounds interesting right? This is a post from marketing pilgrim where they go on to describe why the Big G now favors user experience.

The SEO community is all atwitter (that’s an actual word folks that even existed long before 2006) about the latest change to the Google algorithm. There is the usual “Name the Change” stupidity but that’s just a distraction. Apparently, so are too many ads above the fold on a website according to Google.

it's a short post, but has a lot of input about why user experience is now more valued. Read through the post, I would love to hear your thoughts.

Re: Google Algorithm Update Favors User Experience

Nowadays internet is all about user experience I think. Hence all the social networks, social stuff integrated with blogs and websites, etc.. Internet was made for the users, so it should be optimized for the users. This also means (what I've been shouting around for quite a while now...) that content and relevance is key for a website to rise in ranking. If the user likes the content he'she will most likely use the social buttons, boosting your website in ranking again.

This also means that G is taking into account how long a visitor stays on a website, clicks through to another page on that site, etc..
