Why is scrapeboxing deemed appropriate when links are deleted automatically?

Tis a bit of a peeve, plus I think its the blind guardian blaring through my headset, but I have a serious question to ask none the less. Why are blogs added to scrapebox lists, and why, when its really obvious that it doesn't work, is it still a common place practice? I have been fighting my own little private battle with lists that obviously have my blog on it, and its driving me to distraction.

I already know its a BH technique, but tis so annoying when I log on and have to deal with all those spam emails.

Help me make sense of this please? How can it help SEO when it is clearly ineffective?

I'm also surprised so many are still using scrapebox, but I think it's because most believe that posting as many comments on blogs as possible helps them getting better ranking. Though most don't know terms like OBL and no-follow and will use everything to make posting easy as possible. Scrapebox is a tool to achieve this.

I guess they don't realize that creating hundreds of backlinks like this is "unnatural" and they'll most likely be penalized.

For blog owners who get spammed with these nonsense comments I recommend to use anti spam plugins (Askimet) and a no-follow plugin, which turns every posted link into a no-follow link automatically. If you want quality content on your blog automatically I'd recommend freetrafficsystem.com. Register your blog and follow instructions. You'll get new articles almost daily and trackbacks. With the no-follow plugin any link in new posts will be no-follw...which is good for your own SEO and not as effective for the poster.

I will take a look at this. I am going to be moving our blog to its own domain, and then it will be on lockdown.

If you need some help with what plugins you can use to minimize spam comments and SEO optimization...let me know. We can make a list of possible plugins for your company and I'll give you a list of what I'm using on my 500+ visitors per day blog.

I would appreciate that. I am going to be adding videos to the blog as well as links to podcasts, so its going to be exciting, to say the least. But its going to be annoying to go through all the spam. Just to get to the decent replies. I don't mind giving people a link back, but they could at least read what I have written and comment on it or ask a question or two, instead of using generic nonsense to get the link approved.

I have been thinking about using yoast for now, as well as keeping the new blog linked with WP still using jetpack. Other than that, I am open to suggestions.

Some people will never learn and will always use such techniques,
which is not that bad if you do it the right way and if you don't SPAM.
Blog commenting is actually very good in terms of SERPs, but when done right and on related blogs and with related non-spam comments, but people will post all kind of shi* and also will do like 5000+ comments a day, which is very very bad...

If I had to get that many comments I'd need a straight jacket. I just think people need to realize that these techniques don't work.

Exactly...they have no clue what they're doing only damages their site and that most of their effort has been for nothing.
Well...more room for those who are serious...
