You've probably seen the trend as well...
The less, the better.
The most successful websites and blogs are very clean to the eye, easy with colors and no flashy moving objects. More and more you see simple white pages with just the wrap or table borders. It makes the visitor stay longer and most likely check what else can be found on the site.
Using all kinds of colors and links all over the place makes me want to click the little "X" in the top right corner. The website should be easy to navigate and display a nice and clean, clear overview of what the website is about.
What do you think would work for the masses, the folks that are potential customers ?

is to keep one color constant throughout, and then introduce color in imagery, text, or a simple navigation bar. When introducing color, use something that's complimentary. There are millions of pallets out there that ou can look at and see which color goes with what. Even a predominantly white site can be jazzed up with a little bit of color and shadows to create depth.
